10 Questions + Artworks with Jose Canela
What’s your favorite scary movie?
Scream (1996). Funny fact: my first introduction to Ghostface was from Scary Movie. So when I saw Scream later on I was shocked at how serious and brutal it was.
What’s your favorite horror artwork you’ve created?
My recent drawing of Melissa Barrera as Sam in Scream VI. Especially because she liked and commented on it.
Favorite horror movie sequel?
Child’s Play 2. It’s one of those rare moments where the sequel is better than the original in my opinion.
Least favorite sequel?
Scream 2. ONLY because of that cafeteria scene.
Favorite horror movie character?
Sienna in Terrifier 2.
If you could bring one horror movie character back to life, who would it be?
Dewey Riley (RIP). But to be fair, he was goofy and not careful in most of the movies so he was eventually gonna get got.
What film do you think deserves a sequel that never got one?
Child’s Play (2019). It would’ve been interesting to see what they could’ve come up with since they only had the rights to the original movie and couldn’t use any material from the OG sequels.
Favorite chase scene?
The one with Sidney and Ghostface in Scream towards the end of the movie. It was such a good and long chase.
What horror film do you think is overrated?
Halloween. It’s good but I prefer watching Black Christmas (1974) over it any day.
What horror film do you think is underrated?
Child’s Play (2019). It gets so much hate but it’s a great movie.
