Normally, I would wait until the end of the summer box office season (effective the first Friday in May through the North American Labour Day weekend in September) before issuing a box office report card for the horror genre, and usually it’s specific to the summer season, but the love in 2025 already being showered upon horror movies by both audiences and critics alike has inspired me to instead provide a midyear report card on this year’s horror hits at the box office. It’s an exciting time, and the year is only halfway over!
Below is my comprehensive listing of horror’s TOP 10 performers at the midyear box office, so January 1 through June 30, including overseas and worldwide grosses, as well as IMDB and both Rotten Tomatoes Ratings AND Rotten Tomatoes POPCORNMETER for each.
