Rabbit: What’s your favourite scary movie?
Steve: 28 days later. I’ve always been a zombie movie fan and Danny Boyle is one of my favorite directors. I think he really revolutionized the zombie genre and took a more realistic, darker approach to what a zombie apocalypse would be like.
Rabbit: Who is your favourite horror movie character?
Steve: Jack Torrance. I love Jack Nicholson and he’s one of my favorite actors of all time. The way his characters slips into madness and how well he portrays that is unmatched by any horror movie I’ve seen.
Rabbit: When did you start doing horror art?
Steve: I started doing horror art when I was 7 years old. I would draw pictures of Pinhead, The Nightbreed characters, Jason and Freddy. Have to thank my parents for not putting restrictions on what I watched as a young child.
Rabbit: What’s your favourite horror piece you’ve done to date?
Steve: I really love the most recent piece I did of Bill Paxton from Near Dark. I love the dark tones. Red and black are my favorite colors to use and it works well on this piece.
Rabbit: Any new release horror movies you’re excited to see?
Steve: I’m really excited to see ‘Antlers’. It looks twisted. The trailer kept so much mystery about it. But I think it’s going to be a classic.
