For Halloween month, we’re featuring another talented horror artist, Charlie Bonecutter. Check out a sneak preview of his fanmade Halloween comic He’s Gonna Get You. To see more of Charlie’s work follow @_artistixs on Instagram.
Rabbit: What’s your favourite scary movie?
Charlie: Halloween, but love a lot of slow burners like Hereditary. They definitely get to me!
Rabbit: Who is your favourite horror movie character?
Charlie: Killer: Michael Myers. Hero: Laurie Strode & Jamie Lloyd.
Rabbit: When did you start doing horror art?
Charlie: I always grew up with Horror and my mom was a huge door into the horror world. As a child, I always have and still want to be a horror actor (I’d act out all the scenes and act like all the characters) but I would draw my favourite horror movies and make little comic books wanting to one day be talented enough to make fan-made comics for horror and other genres. Most kids had superheroes (I did too mostly DC and their villains), but I had the survivors & killers in the horror films! I started doing digital art in 2016 and practiced ever since! I wouldn’t have got where I am without my Editor in Chief; Lilly Roszman, who helped me grow and improve over the years!
Rabbit: What’s your favourite horror piece you’ve done to date?
Charlie: My favourite artwork I have done to date would be my upcoming fan-made Instagram graphic novel ‘HALLOWEEN: He’s Gonna Get You’, (half of the comic is below) specifically one of the pages I created for it, but you’ll have to read it because it involves spoilers! Finished project would be my little Instagram Manga ‘Ju-On: Reckoning’.
Rabbit: Any new release horror movies you’re excited to see?
Charlie: New release horror movies I’m excited to see? 3 From Hell, but there isn’t an AMC Theater near me so I couldn’t see it when it came out. Some other ones I can’t wait to see include Doctor Sleep, Grudge 2020, The Conjuring 3, and of course the rest of Halloween 2018 (which my Halloween fan-made graphic novel is based on!) trilogy; Halloween Kills & Halloween Ends!
Rabbit: When can we expect the second half of your Halloween comic to come out?
Charlie: The second half of the comic doesn’t have a release date as of yet. It’s still in progress! It will, however, be released Quarter 1 of 2020!
