Rabbit: What’s your favourite scary movie?
Burnzig: Demons, for sure. It’s such a classic horror movie with a really cool movie theater setting. I’ve worked in movie theaters for over 10 years now. Not enough movies use this setting!
Rabbit: Who is your favourite horror movie character?
Burnzig: Gill-Man. He’s just a misunderstood softy.
Rabbit: What made you start doing horror art?
Burnzig: I’ve been watching horror movies since I was a kid. The first two movies I really remember watching were A Nightmare on Elm Street and the original Halloween. I was hooked. All my childhood art is horror. It’s all I’ve ever drawn. That and cartoons. So it makes sense I mostly combine the two now, I guess.
Rabbit: What’s your favourite horror piece you’ve done to date?
Burnzig: Mashup wise, my Salems Lot/Sleeping Beauty poster. It just clicked immediately. Sometimes mashups just make sense. Otherwise my painting of Art the clown. I sort of did it on a whim one night, no planning, and it came out so realistic and perfect. It was above my bed for a year watching me sleep… now it’s with the people who bought it, watching them every night.
