Full Trailer:
Four friends set out on a road trip for adventure, chasing the thrill of fear.
Their destination: the abandoned Camp Crystal Lake — a place steeped in legend, where tragedy and terror are said to linger.
At first, it’s just a game. A night of dares and ghost stories among rotting cabins and whispering woods.
But as the shadows lengthen and unease creeps in, they realize they are not alone. Because here, more than a legend remains.
Jason Voorhees waits. Patient. Silent. Masked. Machete in hand. At Crystal Lake, stories never end. They bleed.
The mask hides the face. The machete tells the story.
A Q&A with the Director of Underground Pictures Entertainment
Thanks for joining us to discuss your short film Voorhees! What drew you to the Friday the 13th universe and inspired you to create a fan film for this franchise?
Thank you for having us. I’ve always been a fan of this franchise, especially the early entries. My personal favorite is Part 3 with Richard Brooker as Jason. Part 3 and The Blair Witch Project inspired me—I wanted to show a completely different side of the franchise.

Friday the 13th: Part 3 and The Blair Witch Project inspired me—I wanted to show a completely different side of the franchise.
Were there any specific characteristics or traits of Jason you aimed to emphasize?
The focus was on taking a different path than the usual entries and fan films in the series—like Never Hike Alone—and leaning more into a retro/found-footage angle to show audiences something new.
What sets Voorhees apart from other Friday the 13th fan films?
It stands out with its own found-footage look, something that hasn’t existed in the F13 universe until now.

What was the biggest challenge you faced during filming, and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge was being able to shoot all the scenes in peace and quiet. We underestimated that at first. It wasn’t easy, because the lake we chose as our location was always busy with anglers and swimmers. That made filming quite difficult at times and led to more night shoots to help mitigate those issues.

Camp Crystal Lake is an iconic horror setting. How did you approach recreating this eerie atmosphere on a smaller scale?
Our team spent a long time thinking it over and racking our brains, until Chris (team member, Underground Pictures Entertainment) came up with the perfect location. It had exactly the vibe we were looking for with this project. Everything just clicked.

Congratulations on your recent win for Best International Micro Short at the Dunwich Horror Fest! Do you have any plans for a sequel? Perhaps Voorhees Part 2?
Many thanks to the entire team at the Dunwich Horror Fest for the award. We’re working on it, but there will also be other projects that have nothing to do with this franchise. We’re in the process of getting our own projects off the ground. More on that soon—stay tuned. A big thank you to all the supporters in the horror community; we wouldn’t have been able to get this far without you. We truly appreciate it. It also needs to be said that we’re only able to ride this wave because of people like Damien Leone, Eli Roth, and Rob Zombie, who paved the way and revitalized the genre. Without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
