Loose Ends: Victim No More Part II is a feature-length anthology sequel to the short Friday the 13th tribute film Victim No More, written and directed by Bob Heckman.
Official Teaser Trailer:
Loose Ends: Victim No More Part II is an upcoming feature-length sequel to Victim No More, as well as a prequel exploring the origins of the Survivor Squad members who appeared to take down Jason Voorhees at the end of the first film. Similar to other anthology films, it will be a collection of short tales with surprising twists, shocking character reveals, fun cameo appearances by cult horror icons and an all-new Jason Voorhees story that fits right into the established franchise’s 1980s timeline.
A Q&A with writer/director Bob Heckman
Welcome, Bob! Thanks for joining us to discuss your feature-length anthology sequel, Loose Ends: Victim No More Part II. What prompted you to go the anthology route for your Friday the 13th fan film sequel?
I decided to make a feature-length anthology film because it’s a favorite subgenre of horror films that I adore. Some of my favorite horror anthologies are Creepshow, Tales From the Darkside: The Movie, Cat’s Eye, From Beyond the Grave and Trick ‘r Treat! And because the Friday the 13th series is truly my favorite horror film franchise, and there being so many potential tales to be told in regards to characters and directions it can go, I figured let me scratch two itches and put those two ideas together — the FIRST Friday the 13th anthology film!
What unique elements or twists does your film bring to the Friday the 13th franchise that sets it apart from other fan-made projects?
Well, the twists I can’t reveal, BUT I can say that what makes it different than many of the other F13 fan films is that I take some of the characters (or their relatives) from the original films and show them in ways you won’t see coming without retconning anything you already know about them. I am not a fan of how a lot of the fan films ignore certain sequels or disrupt the original established timeline (at least with the first paramount 8 films). It’s not a good idea to ignore what could be a fan’s favorite entry to the series. They may not like what you did because you dismissed their favorite one. I tried not to do that.
What characteristics of Jason did you focus on capturing in Loose Ends to stay true to the character’s spirit?
Definitely, the human monster side of Jason. You will once again see Jason Voorhees as he appeared in the Part 3D-The Final Chapter era. You can see him thinking, the kills are quick, AND he can be hurt (if one gets the chance to fight back!).
You have an Indiegogo campaign raising funds towards stretch goals for Loose Ends: Victim No More Part II. What perks can horror fans receive for supporting the film?
The Indiegogo Campaign perks are super generous (as many fans have told me) and worth the prices for what you will be receiving. QUALITY T-shirts, character pins, beanies, Blu-ray copies of both the first Victim No More and Loose Ends (only available through the campaign) with a lot of features, GREAT PRODUCER PERKS, including tickets to the premiere and more! EVERYONE gets their name in the end credits no matter what they contribute! Every dollar counts! Especially to help pay for some of those fun cameo appearances by some of the actors you grew up watching!
Any plans for a Victim No More Part III?
There will definitely be a Victim No More Part III! It will complete this trilogy of films and, in a way, bring the entire Friday the 13th franchise full circle. The VNM films can be viewed on their own and also as sequels to each other. I hope that this trilogy can be completed just as we get a NEW theatrical studio Friday the 13th back in the cinemas!
